Second Annual Winter Solstice Charity Run

The Second Annual Winter Solstice Charity run will be held @ 6:00pm on December 15th, 2011.

The run will be held at the Horse Hill Nature Preserve in Merrimack, NH (directions below).

The Course
One mile fun run. It will be an out and back, mostly on an old dirt road with about a quarter mile on single track trail. There are rocks and roots, especially in the single track section, so you will want your trail shoes if you have them. The course is gradually uphill on the way out... and thus gradually downhill on the way back.

Adults = $5
12-18 = $3
under 12 = $1
Cant make the run? You can still make a donation to go to the lucky winners charity!

Everyone will stick their entry fee into the "Cash Purse" and the point winner will pick the charity to which it will be donated.

How to WIN! (for your charity)
The winner will be determined by the individual with the greatest amount of points earned. There are some standard point calculations listed below... but there will be more ways to earn points out on the run (to be disclosed at the starting line)!
* The first seven folks across the finish line will earn points 2 points each.
* If you are a female you get an extra point... and you get an additional point for each child that you have had.
* Kids under 12 get extra points based on their age (12 minus their age)
* Most festive Winter Solstice outfit will get a couple extra points
Plus... more points to earn out on the run!

Awards and Food
Working on a couple of awards... I am sure they will be stellar! There might be a warm snack to put in your belly after the run.

Preparedness
It will be cold... there could be snow or freezing rain... it is December after all. It will be dark, kind of an obvious one as it is Winter Solstice. You will need to dress for the elements and you will need a GOOD light source. A headlamp and a hand held light would be recommended to cut the shadow line. Make sure you bring warm clothes to slip into afterwards.
